ICN News – PT Garda Tujuh Buana Tbk was established in June 1996 with the authorized capital of Rp 100,000,000 of which Rp 25,000,000 was issued and fully paid up. The founding shareholders of the company are Mr. Rianto AKA Anton Rianto, M. Slamet Harsono and Mr. Ir. Hari Purnomo (Purnama). At the end of 2003, the authorized capital of the company was raised to Rp 1,000,000,000 of which Rp 491,700,000 was issued and fully paid up. At the same time, Mr. Slamet Harsono withdrew and replaced by PT Bina Alam Indah kreasindo, Mr. Paulce Daud Wenas, Mr. Ir. Mangihut Oloan Sihombing and Mrs. Nirmala Dewi Syakerani.
On 11 May 2009 through the articles of association of the company No. 11 made by Fathiah Helmi, SH, a notary public in Jakarta, the status of the company was changed to a public listed company (Tbk). The revised articles of association of the company have been legalized by Minister of Justice through decree No. AHU-25653.AH.01.02.Year 2009 dated 11 June 2009.
To seek for business financial alternative and to perform expansion requiring great investment, GTBO finally decided to floor in stock exchange. In July 2009, GTBO succeeded in listing its shares in Indonesian Stock Exchange (ISE) and obtained a fund of Rp 210.9 billion. Some 54.48% of the fund was used for investment such machinery purchase, construction of facilities and infrastructures, acquisition of mining areas while the rest of 45.52% was allocated for company’s working capital.
Based on the latest information received by CDMI that the authorized capital of the company was raised
to Rp 1,000,000,000,000 of which Rp 250,000,000,000 was issued and fully paid up.

GTBO handles the operation of coal mining processing and logistics integratedly. GTBO performs thermal coal mining and it is considered as one of coal producers which mines and sells low calorie coal. GTBO has ensured and identified significant and sufficient coal reserves to meet the need of its customers. The mining location can be accessed in 1 hour on speed boat from Tarakan Port, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan Province.
In its development, the width of Mining Authority of GTBO was changed to 710 Ha based on decree of Bulungan Regent No.147/K-III/540/2007 dated 26 March 2007 on the granting of Exploitation Mining Authority. It is stated that the area width of GTBO was initially 1,995,003 ha but declined to 710 ha. It means that there were area decrease of 1,283,003 ha and they were returned to the regional government of Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan. The location of coal mine is in the north part of inhabited Bunyu Island.
GTBO continued to production phase after completing various phases such as the construction of production facilities and infrastructures. Presently, GTBO produces thermal coal with low ash and sulphur content of 4,800 kcal/kg – 5,100 kcal/kg. Coal produced by GTBO is used as fuel of electric power plants within and outside the country. GTBO also has competency to mix its coal to raise the quality in order to fulfill special request of its customers.
Until 2023 GTBO has owned coal resource reserves of 95,406,375 metric tons and coal reserves of 46,376,004 metric tons.
