ICN News – TITAN is a group of companies with a broad business scope, including coal mining (in Jambi, Bengkulu and East Kalimantan), mining contracting and special sea transportation of coal.
According to Darwan Siregar, the President Director of TITAN, in 2022 the company succeeded in producing 14 million tons of coal and increase production in 2023 to achieve the set target. The largest user of TITAN coal is the State Electricity Company (PLN) with a 20 year contract.
Efforts to increase coal production are also accompanied by increasing production quality and loading & unloading capacity at ports. PT Swarnadwipa Dermaga Jaya (PT SDJ) has inaugurated the 1D upgrade phase 1 project to facilitate loading and unloading of coal at the dock, so that coal can be transported by two routes, namely river and land.
In 2023, TITAN is targeted to be able to produce 19 million to 20 million tons of coal, an increase of 42.8% compared to that in the previous year. From the two mining business permits (IUP), the coal produced by TITAN is low calorie. TITAN has been mining at that location since 2005.
In an effort to increase coal production significantly, TITAN utilizes a special coal jetty owned by PT Swarnadwipa Dermaga Jaya (SDJ) to support its industrial growth. On 15 February 2023 TITAN announced the implementation of the 1D Upgrade Phase 1 project at the Batubara Jetty which is managed by its subsidiary located in Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir, South Sumatra.
Upgrade the 1D Phase 1 conveyor is the operation of additional weigh bridges and crushers at the KM 36 stockpile. The Phase 1D project was implemented to develop the current port facilities so that they can support the production target of 20 million tons per year.
